FAQs
Is there a dress code? Do I have to dress up?
YES! The dress code is Formal/Black Tie. We want everyone to take the opportunity to dress to the nines and make an event out of it. A note for the guys: no jeans, no hawaiian shirts, no shorts.
Are children and babies invited to the wedding?
This is an adults-only event. While we love to see your littles on most occasions, our wedding and reception will be a baby and kid free zone. There are a few exceptions for immediate family members and you will hear from us directly if this includes you. There are local baby-sitting services in Whangamata if needed.
Are there any other planned events over the weekend?
Yes! If you will be in Whangamata on the evening of Friday 4th before the wedding, we will be hosting a Welcome Drinks at Jaime’s family bach and everyone’s welcome!
When: 4pm - 7pm - Friday 4th April.
Where: 108 Ranfurly Road, Whangamata. (little blue bach)
All wedding guests are welcome, we would love to see you the night before. Wear what you like, bring kids if you want, but make sure you get an early night - the big party is tomorrow!
We won’t be hosting a day after event because we will be hung over.
What can I give you as a wedding gift?
We would prefer not to receive any gifts or money. We know that the cost to attend a wedding adds up: travel, accommodation, childcare, dressing up, etc. We really appreciate you making the effort to show up for us at our wedding, so would truly prefer no other gift than that.
Who do I call if there’s an issue on the day?
We won’t be picking up our phones on the wedding day, we would rather enjoy our day without knowing if you missed the bus or lost your date. Our designated contact for any issues or questions on the wedding day is:
Bridesmaid: Camilla Jones: 021 214 6436
MC: Mark (Soz) Sorensen: 021 194 0333
How do we get to Hillbrook?
Hillbrook Estate is a 15 minute drive out of Whangamata, situated on a forestry road. We have organised a shuttle service on the day of the wedding to get everyone to and from the Estate.
The shuttle bus will pick up guests in three locations in Whangamata. Guests should be prepared for a 2.30-3pm pick up to take everyone out to Hillbrook. More information on this will be circulated closer to the event.
Whangamata Motor Camp (on Barbara Ave)
Palm Pacific Motor Lodge (In Town)
Surf Club (outside Blackies Cafe)
Head to the Travel & Stay page for more info. We recommend staying near these locations so you are in walking distance to the key areas over the weekend.
Be warned that there are very limited taxis in Whangamata, so we strongly recommend you make it on the shuttle!
Can I drive and park at Hillbrook?
Yes, there is a small amount of parking onsite for guests at Hillbrook. Let us know if you need to drive, but make sure you have a sober driver to get home! Open directions in Google Maps.
